Probably the best cat portrait I've ever taken.

Spot in repose

Isn't he beautiful?

He is a handsome fellow, indeed. And he knows it.

Well that's a very satisfied cat! I have one that crosses her paws as well.

Harley used to cross his paws all the time. He was such a little character.

This is the first time I'd noticed Spot doing it, and it looked so dignified and photogenic that I had to take the picture.

It's the satisfaction from discovering that N had set up the perfect background for him: striking the pose. (Glass art? Etsy? Who cares about that when you have ME?!?!)

ETA: Ah, a likely but not (this time) accurate scenario. Still, it shows off his fur so well.

I wouldn't put it past him at all! If he managed to get into that room I have no doubt I'd find him lounging on the velvet. With a torn open bag of cat food on the floor under him.

Perfect!

Is that the black cloth you use to take your excellent glass pictures? How long will it take to remove all the cat hair? :^)

That's actually the eggplant colored sheet on my bed (which has a lot of cat hair on it). The velvet backdrop is in a sealed room and goes in a sealed plastic bag when I'm not using it. So far, that's worked pretty well.

I love the expression. "Just take the damn picture already."

I was amazed he sat still long enough for me to get the shot! Usually they'll stand up and walk over to find out what I'm up to when I point a camera at them. I got lucky that he was nice and comfortable.

I'm glad I finally got a picture that does him justice. I'll have to make an icon from it.

[edit] And there it is!

Thanks! As for equipment, I have to give all props to my new Droid Razr for the shot. Damned thing takes better pictures than my camera sometimes.

Isn't he just? Now, if he could just get along with my elderly lady cat, all would be well.
